Photo resizer and compressor

Make a photo smaller for email, forms and messages. Nothing is uploaded.

How to make a photo smaller

Pick a photo, choose a maximum width and a quality level and the tool shows the new size before you download. Lower quality and a smaller width both reduce the file size. For most email and form uploads, a width of 1280 to 1600 pixels at 70 to 80% quality is a good balance.

The tool saves the result as JPG. It works for JPG, PNG and WebP photos. It does not change the original on your phone.

Common size limits

Many forms and websites cap uploads at 1 MB, 2 MB or 5 MB. Email services often limit attachments to about 20 to 25 MB in total. If a form rejects your photo, lower the width first, then the quality, and check the size shown by the tool.

Frequently asked questions

Does compressing a photo reduce its quality?

Yes, a little. At 70 to 80% quality most people cannot see the difference on a phone screen, but the file can be several times smaller.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. The photo is processed in your browser and never sent to our servers.

What size should a photo be for email?

Under 1 to 2 MB is easy to send and open. A width of 1280 to 1600 pixels is large enough for most screens.
