How to hide following on Instagram (what really works)
You cannot hide your following list on a public account. Going private is the only way to hide it from strangers.

Open your Followers list.

Tap Remove next to their name.
On a private account, they cannot see your lists anymore.

Can my followers still see who I follow on a private account?
Yes. Anyone you approve can see it. Remove or block a follower to take away their view.
Can I hide likes and my online status instead?
Yes. Turn off like counts in Settings › Likes and shares, and turn off Show activity status in Messages settings.
