Instagram keeps logging me out: why it happens and how to stop it

Check where you are logged in.
In Instagram go to your profile, tap the menu, then Accounts Center › Password and security › Where you’re logged in. Log out any device you do not recognize.

Change your password and turn on two-factor authentication.
In the same Password and security section, change your password and turn on two-factor authentication with an authentication app or text message.

Update Instagram.
Install the latest version from the App Store or Google Play Store.

Remove extra accounts.
Keep to five accounts or fewer in the app, and log out of ones you rarely use.

Remove third-party apps with access.
In Accounts Center, look for apps and websites connected to your account, and remove follower trackers, auto-likers and anything you do not trust.

Turn off your VPN.
Log in without the VPN and see if the problem stops.

Clear cache (Android) or offload the app (iPhone).
Android: Settings › Apps › Instagram › Storage › Clear cache. iPhone: Settings › General › iPhone Storage › Instagram › Offload App, then reinstall it from the same screen.

Reinstall Instagram.
Delete the app, restart your phone, reinstall and log in again.
